JoJo Golden Spirit Getting Started in Golden Spirit
Codes, reroll, Joseph, Jotaro, and the Golden Wind story tracks.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Spirit is live on iOS and Android after the 13 August 2026 launch. This page is the first-hour order of operations: claim free pulls, delay the account bind, learn the story layout, and leave the auto-battler with a lineup you understand. The official gameplay trailer in the middle of this article is the right visual for what the game actually looks like once combat starts. For the rest of the walkthrough tree, return to the Guides Hub.
Do not bind the account until you have made a reroll decision. Linking email, social, or store IDs too early locks a starter box you may want to throw away. Play the tutorial, look at the first SSR and SR you actually own, then either keep the account or reset. Joseph Joestar from the pre-registration track is useful even if the rest of the box is messy, but he is not a reason to skip reroll math.
Codes, Joseph, and the launch Jotaro window
Redeem working codes before you spend premium currency. The gift box is easy to miss on a first login, so follow how to redeem if the menu path is not obvious, then check code rewards so you know whether you received tickets, gems, or materials. Codes are the cheapest way to fund an extra pull while the launch banners are still running.
The pre-registration 2,000,000 reward is SR Joseph Joestar with Hermit Purple. His stun and bind kit is not flashy DPS. It is crowd control you will keep using in Entrance Exam and other fights where an enemy has to be stopped before it reaches a protected ally. Do not bench him because the card is SR.
The launch featured SSR is Jotaro Kujo on Fated Expedition from 13 August to 10 September 2026. That window is finite. If you are going to spend early tickets, spend them on the featured limited pool, not on a random permanent pull you can take later. The launch notes and events tracker list the same calendar so you are not guessing from memory. For names and roles after you pull, use the SSR roster and the PVE tier list.
Recruitment shows a poker-hand flourish on the summon screen. That animation is mostly presentation. Rarity is still SSR, SR, or R. Do not treat a pretty spread as a hidden fifth rarity. Permanent rates, limited pity, and the displayed 2.85% SSR figure live on the progression page so this beginner guide does not duplicate the gacha sheet.
Golden Wind story tracks and recommended icons
Story starts with Golden Wind and Giorno. Each chapter has a story track and a combat track, and both Normal and Hard exist. Story nodes teach the plot with dialogue and cut-ins. Combat nodes are the auto-battler fights that drop Courage Essence, Ability Essence, coins, and the stars that fill chapter chests. Clear Normal to unlock Hard. Hard is where extra materials and tighter star conditions live, so do not treat it as optional flavor once your Quest Level allows it.
Before a fight, the game marks recommended characters with thumbs-up icons. Those icons are a hint for that stage, not a global tier list. If a thumbs-up unit is underleveled, you can still win with a stronger box, but the icon is telling you the stage wants a kit (stun, heal, range) more than a raw power score. Giorno is the support and heal lynchpin of early Golden Wind content. He is not your top DPS. Build him because fights ask you to keep allies alive, not because you want a carry.
Combat itself is covered in Combat and Rush. The short version for day one: you set the lineup, you choose when to fire ultimates from the bottom-right icons, and you should turn AUTO off when you want Rush. AUTO spends ultimates the instant they fill, which prevents the three-style Rush window. Red arrows are melee paths, dotted lines are ranged paths, and a button above Battle Start shows your own paths. Star-rating extras care about time remaining and allies not defeated. If a stage feels unfair, you probably ignored those paths or left AUTO on.
Weather already matters in story. Open the weather guide when a preview shows Strong wind, Blowing sand, Rainfall, Heavy snow, Heavy fog, or Extreme heat. Breeze is the baseline. Narancia can ignore some range cuts. Squalo likes rain. Prosciutto’s aging is suppressed in blizzard and stronger in extreme heat. You do not need to memorize unnamed environments on day one.
First unlocks: Hall of Trials and Quest Level
Daily quests raise Quest Level. Hall of Trials unlocks at Quest Level 3, so the Hall of Trials page becomes required reading as soon as that desk appears. Entrance Exam and Interview Trial ask you to keep Giorno’s flame lit; you cannot buff or debuff Giorno, and Shadow Sabbath attacks if the flame goes out. Joseph’s stun helps. Koichi can later pin the Stand with Reverb Act 3 gravity for 5 seconds. Extreme Trial after N3-10 is a wave challenge that pays Dramatic Scenes and cares about speed. Do not sit on N3-10 because you wanted to save stamina for story only.
Quest Level also gates the character level cap. The progression example is Quest Level 12 capping units at Level 40. If essence stops applying, you are not bugged. You are waiting on Quest Level. Spend the first week on story stars, daily quests, codes, and one focused roster instead of spreading shards across every R you pull. Gallery opens at Quest Level 4. Badges open after N4-10. Spirit Realm waits until N8-10 and character Level 45, which is why Double Clash is a later milestone, not a day-one mode.
Use the daily checklist so login, dailies, and Hall attempts do not slip. Keep official links bookmarked for store and socials. The Players Hub and fighting styles pages are the roster companions once you leave this beginner list. After the first clear of Gang Invitation, SPW Request starts paying Gold and Investigation Intelligence in the Hall. That is the moment this getting-started page should hand you off: you now have a bound-or-rerolled account, a code claim, a story split you understand, and a Hall desk that needs its own guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for codes, Rush, and Stand lineups.
Should I bind my account as soon as the tutorial ends?
No. Finish a reroll decision first. Binding email or store IDs too early locks a starter box you may want to reset.
What did the 2,000,000 pre-registration reward give?
SR Joseph Joestar with Hermit Purple. His stun and bind kit stays useful in Entrance Exam. Claim it, then still redeem codes.
Is the poker-hand animation a separate rarity?
No. The flourish is presentation. Pulls are still SSR, SR, or R. Rates and pity are on progression.
Who is the launch featured SSR and how long is the banner?
Jotaro Kujo on Fated Expedition from 13 August to 10 September 2026. Track it on launch notes and events.
How is the main story laid out?
It starts in Golden Wind with Giorno. Each chapter has a story track and a combat track, with Normal and Hard. Thumbs-up icons mark recommended fighters for a given stage.
When should I turn AUTO off?
Turn AUTO off when you want Rush. AUTO fires ultimates immediately. Combat and Rush covers the three-style rule.
